The death is announced of the late Mrs. Sandra Fleming Joseph, 54, of Belmont, St. Georges, Grenada. The Funeral will take place on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Church, The Open Bible located at 531 E 48th Street (between Snyder & Tilden) in Brooklyn, NY. There will be a viewing from 5-7pm immediately followed by a funeral service at 7pm.

Special Info  Sandra Helen Fleming-Joseph entered into this world on April 19th 1961 in the town St Georges, Grenada. She was the daughter of Hilda Fleming and the late Mr. Oliver John Alexis. Sandra was an exceptional child; she was an intelligent, thoughtful, kind, friendly, caring and a flamboyant young lady. She began her education at the south St. George Government School in springs, then, the St. George’s Seventh day Adventist Primary school in Archibald Avenue, later She attended the St. John’s Christian Secondary School and finally the Vocational institute in Tanteen St. George’s where she studied Business Administration. Sandra migrated to the United States of America in 1980 at the age of 20. Sandra was always on a quest for education. She enrolled for classes in whatever was offered in the community: Typing, keypunching, and eventually enrolled in The College of New Rochelle, where she obtained an Associate degree in liberal Arts. Sandra’s job experience included, bank teller, cashing, clerical and data entry which was her area of expertise. Sandra landed a position at Brookdale Hospital in the late 80s as a data entry operator. Later she was transferred to the staff education department where she worked for the past 23 years and she was exceptional at her job. One of Sandra’s passion was a love for the business industry. As a little girl Sandra would sell mangos, make and sell fudge, tamarind balls and sugar cakes. She brought that same spirit to the US. She participated in several business ventures selling Avon, Popular club, Princess house crystal as well as organizing numerous bus rides to Atlantic City. Sandra was also a foster mother for many children and eventually adopted two children to add to her family. She always dreamed of opening her very own business and she was able to realize that dream when she opened “Madia’s Day care” in Canarsie, Brooklyn which she ran as director for many years. Many family members were honored to receive the services she provided. She went above and beyond in the daycare by providing various families with food and furniture for children Sandra was wed to Matthew Joseph in August of 1993 and they had two lovely children: Matthew Joseph Jr and Sadia Joseph. She lives to cherish her memories, her husband Matthew Joseph Sr., her children, Matthew, Sadia, Jasmine and Alexis, her Grand children, Jazinaya, Brianna, Geovanni, Tevin and Maurice , her mother, Hilda Felicity Fleming, her Sister, Minister Sarah Sheila Fleming, Jean Esther Griffith, Joyeclyn Ann Fleming, Sharon Fleming-Noel, Agatha Ferguson, and Jocelin , her brothers Victor Winston Jones, Curtis Bucky Fleming and Andre Fleming all residing in the USA. Kelon England and Irvin in Canada, her mother-in-law Ophelia Joseph. Sisters- in- law of, Yvette, Valarie, Iris, Rita and the late Jacqueline Berg -jones, brothers-in-law, Raphael, Cletus and Francis. She was the aunt of Dr. Nicole Fleming-Norville, Danielle, Roxanne, Shanelle, Shaunta, Juliet, Shivonne, Rhea, Tiara, Jordan, Ryan, Randy, Irvin, Wavell Jr, Dwayne, Duran Durano Lester, Raybon, Andrea and Andrine. Grand aunt of Juelz, Morgan, Ovaughn, Blake, Reid, Jordin , Jayson, Iyashau, Manai, Elijah, Jarah and the God mother of: Shivonne Noel and Rea Fleming, Niece and cousin of: Rev. John and Dr. Matilda Fleming and family, Emmanuel and Gemma Fleming and Family, Ms. Vera Tobey and family. Gracelyn and Edward Pope and family. A host of family and friends including; Cousin Easton, Cousin Rita and the Fleming family in Grenada. Theresa, Allison, Monica, Mag. The Joseph Family, Co-workers and friends at Brookdale Hospital and the congregation of the church of the open Bible. Sandra accepted God as her lord and savior in April 2015 when she reached out to her sister Minister Sarah and asked her to prayer with her to accept God into her life……Sandra had big dreams but God called her home to rest with no more pain until his return. She will be dearly remembered for the generous gift of reaching out to help and touching the lives of the many people she met. We are comforted by the fact that her struggles on earth are over and that she is now resting under Gods protective care.

I just Want to say thank you everyone for your condolences. I really do Miss my mom dearly every day I still feel like I am living a dream but time will heal me and my loving family. my mom was the best thing I can ever ask for in life besides my children and I will forever lover her and think about the good times and the bad times everyday and every thought is a memory for me.
