Phyllis Mary Hartman was born in Grandmal, St. George’s on the small island of Grenada, W.I on February 28, 1941. As a young girl she attended St. Louis R.C Girls School, where she graduated and later professed her faith in Jesus as a dedicated member of the Catholic faith
Phyllis started her career at a young age as a police officer for Grenada Royal Police Force then due to her devoted work ethics her services was requested in the government house until the mid 80’s when she migrated to the United States. Upon migrating to the United States she started her career as a Home Health Aide and continued until her retirement. Phyllis was always known to be working, even after retirement, she continued to work taking care of an elder until her unexpected demised, November 27, 2017.
Being a work-a-holic was what many knew Phyllis for, but she also knew how to have fun. Phyllis travelled to many islands including Trinidad, and St. Croix. She also played net ball, and made it her business to never miss a carnival. Every few years she would enjoy parading in her costume during old mas. While in America, many looked forward to attending her yearly fun filled bus rides to Atlantic City. It was the most talked about event that everyone looked forward to, packed with food, entertainment, and lots of laughs. In her spare time, Phyllis enjoyed spending time in the casino, crocheting, and baking.
As a result of her generous spirit and pleasant personality, Phyllis was loved by many; her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Dixon.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in lives of many including her soulmate, Raymond; son, Winston; daughter in laws, Eslyn and Michelle; siblings, Carroll, Maria, and Alfa; her grand-children, Amma, Amanda, Randy, Randy Jr, Kawandy, Kenyatta, Kessie, Kitwana; her niece and nephews- Pamella, Antonio “Berisford”, Gilbert, Adonis, Paulina, Lourdes, Ann, Lourene, Loudermis, Godwin, Pat, Ray, Shirley, Bernadette and a host of others; close friends, Virigna, and Judith; a host of great grandchildren and many other family and friends too numerous to mention and too important to forget.

My sincere condolences go out to the Family of Phyllis, although most of you would not know me because I knew Phyllis from back in the days she was a Police Officer. She was a quiet humble and peaceful woman who was well respected among her peers. Rest in peace my Friend.

My heart is heavy, my eyes are fill with tears how could you leave without saying good bye,why why did you have to die. Only last week I called to hear your voice and to let you know I love you.
