The funeral for the late Bernadette Holder will take place on Friday, May 22, 2026, at Grace & Truth Gospel Temple located at 644 MacDonough St, Brooklyn, NY 11233. The viewing will be held from 5pm-6pm followed by the funeral service at 6pm. She will be laid to rest in Grenada, W.I. Please give your condolences to the Holder family.

Bernadette Gillian Holder was born on 30/12/1956 at the general Hospital (Grenada) to Agnita Holder and Edward Charles.
She was the first of nine Siblings. Left to moan her death are David, Joy, Dianne, Susan, Sherlan, Junior and John.
She attended Welsey Hall primary school. As a teenager Bernadette participated in numerous netball competitions and was a member of Tempe Sunlight Netball team where she played in the position of Goal attack.
One of her favorite past times was going to the different calypso tents leading up the Carnival to listen to all the different calypsos. She also attended the Semi-final competition but not the final.
In her spare time, she loved to watch and listen to movies. The video club was one of her favorite places. I can recall her spending hours on a Saturday at the video club.
Saturday mornings, she would spend at the market, getting her fruits and vegetables.
She loved blood pudding and would buy it at the market every Saturday morning.
Cooking and baking were her passion. Bernadette would use the same ingredients in her dishes as anyone else but bet your bottom dollars it would taste different to the others. Her love for cooking transcends into the taste of the food. I often wonder how she did not open a restaurant or bakery.
She was employed at Deco Industries ltd as a seamstress in the Garment factory from 1975 until she migrated to the United States in April of 1989, where she resided up until her death.
Upon her arrival in the united states she was employed as a caregiver, she loved taking care of the elderly. Her social activities were cooking and baking and shopping to send home barrels to her loved ones. She loved feeding people. She loved everything from her homeland and whenever anyone was visiting their suitcase will be packed with everything that she wanted
In her later years, she gave her life to The Lord and attended Grace and Truth Gospel Temple
