GRENADA'S OPPOSITION PARTY TO VISIT CHINA
ST GEORGE'S, Grenada (AP) - Grenada's main opposition party will send a delegation to China next week in an effort to boost bilateral relations, the party said. Tillman Thomas, leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress, will lead the seven-member team on the one-week trip to Beijing, his office said. It will be the party's first official trip to China since Grenada broke off relations with Taiwan and re-established ties with China earlier this year. The opposition had criticised the government over the move, but Thomas said his party nonetheless decided to take up China's offer to visit. "We believe it's important that we strengthen our links with China," he said. "The opposition in Grenada represents a substantial amount of people and we've been providing good representation for the people of the country." Reprinted from jamaicaobserver.com
