CUSTOMS DIVISIONS TO LAUNCH DECLARATION, SELECTIVITY AN...
The Grenada Customs and Excise Division will be launching the Declaration, Selectivity and Accounting Module of ASYCUDA World on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. In the first instance, this module will apply only to NON-COMMERCIAL TRADE DECLARATIONS at the St. George’s Office to be immediately followed by the other areas such as Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) on February 22nd and Grenville and Carriacou on February 29, 2012. The launch of commercial trade declarations will be done on a date that will be announced within the upcoming months. All Importers/Exporters are advised that, beginning Wednesday, February 15, 2012, all non-commercial Entries for import and export of goods must be submitted using the Declaration Module of ASYCUDA World using the simplified Single Administrative Document (SAD). An Officer will be available to key in consignments under five lines and valued at three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) or less. Importers/Exporters will be required to make their declarations on the simplified SAD which should be printed directly from ASYCUDA World prior to being interviewed by Customs officials. Goods would not be cleared out of Customs Charge if the Declaration relating to the said goods has not been submitted electronically to Customs. Persons clearing goods must obtain a simplified SAD from the shipper/consolidator before proceeding to the Customs Area. It is anticipated that during the early/pilot phase, minor delays may occur and in this regard, the Customs Division is soliciting the patience and understanding of the Trading Community. The new automated procedures are geared towards improving Customs operations and enhancing trade facilitation which in turn will support increased economic activities in the Country. The ASYCUDA World Implementation Team will be available to answer all questions and deal with any difficulties which may arise during the launch of the new system. Copies of brochures outlining additional information can be obtained from the ASYCUDA Project Office, PWU Building, Tanteen, St. George’s.

CUSTOMS DIVISIONS TO LAUNCH DECLARATION, SELECTIVITY AN...
A sleek way to taxed Grenadians providing remittances to their desperate families in Grenada and those of visiting. The administration cannot decrease the growing unemployment. Why are non-commercial products taxed? This should be an incentive to attract visitors to the Island, the economy is dependent on tourism, Don't turn us off.
