OFFICE OF THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE COMMENTS ON THE AR...
Commissioner of Police Mr. James Clarkson has given the assurance that the action of the Police in the town of St. George on Wednesday morning was never intended to stop or lessen the exuberance of person or persons celebrating the historic election of Senator Barack Obama to the office of President, in the United States of America. It must be noted that there were a number of celebratory activities across the nation with no incidents reported. Mr. Clarkson took the opportunity to clear the air as it relates to the arrest of Mr. Roilez Coutain of Grand Anse in St. George’s. Mr. Coutain age 63, was arrested on Wednesday morning, and charged for the use of insulting language and resisting arrest. The Commissioner of Police has also instructed the Department of Audit, Anti Corruption, Research and Development to look into the occurrences that led to the arrest of Mr. Coutain. People, law and order must prevail in spite of. Could he not celebrate without using foul language. was there a reason for using bad language. The police are there to enforce the law, and it does not matter that the brother was celebrating a historic event, do it decently. We must think first before we act. Was he the only one celebrating? Why weren't others arrested? It means he was out of control. Mr. Clarkson and his team is doing what they are supposed to do under the constitution.

we know and we understand that in the mids of celebrating on a historiic day like that one would expect that some kind of lawlessness will acoure but give me a break arresting a man for that is nonsense. this is the kind of thing that causes political problems. This is where political movements starts . Mr Clarkson should see that the brother be release with out charge.
