ST. GEORGE NORTH EAST FOOTBALL UPDATE (27TH MAY 2010)

ST GEORGE'S, May 27, 2010 - The St. George Under -20 squad duly earned their first points in the St. George North East 2010 Football Competition when they swept aside Legacy Valley Beaulieu by scoring four unanswered goals on Thursday. National goal keeper Desmond "Mandrake" Noel took time off from coaching the St. George U - 20 squad to represent his ancestral village Beaulieu as an outfield player. In his absence Allister De Bellotte directed affairs. The St. George U - 20 who were unfazed by the prospect of facing Mr. Noel as a midfielder and after starting slowly took the lead on the half hour markwhen goalkeer Shannon Lawrence flapped at a cross and Kendall Morain headed home. Soon after the Beaulieu custodian was at fault again when he spilled a shot allowing Valdon Lewis to slot home. At this juncture goal keeper Lawrence was replaced by Bertrand Sylvester and no more goals were conceded in the half. On resumption after the interval the St. George U 20 completely dominated proceedings and one goal each was added by Valdon Lewis and Tarvon Toussaint. The St. George U - 20 now join Boca Strikers at the foot of the table with three (3) points each.
