Prime Minister Keith Mitchell has called on more Grenadian businesses to invest in the productive sector. Speaking, on Thursday, at the launch of the Anthurium Restaurant at the Bon Accord Estate at La Mode, the Prime Minister said that by investing in this sector, business persons are investing in the future. “Every single serious business person should realize that it is their responsibility to invest in the productive sector because, as the economy grows, it means that the productive sector will have to grow.. . The more the economy grows the more the retail sector grows,” he said. The Prime Minister urged business persons in the retail sector to invest some of their profits in the productive sector. Prime Minister Mitchell congratulated Robert and Velena Branch for their foresight and for taking the risk to transform the Bon Accord Estate into one of Grenada’s most productive estates. Since 1999, with assistance from the Government of Grenada through the Ministry of Agriculture and the Republic of China Agricultural Research and Seed Production Centre, the Estate has been transformed into a leading supplier of anthurium lilies and other tropical flowers.
