CARIBBEAN WIRELESS MILESTONE REACHED
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico: In a prime example of local entrepreneurs overcoming geographic and national barriers to connect globally, Neptuno Networks has passed a critical network size benchmark. Neptuno, a service provider and a broadband integration services company, has installed its 3,000th unit of Axxcelera Broadband’s AB-Access™ product into Neptuno's own network and the networks of major carriers in the Caribbean. The largest installations are in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Antigua. Other key locations are Anguilla, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Lucia, and St. Marteen. In passing the benchmark, the Neptuno network has a multinational wireless provisioning presence for delivering cost-effective, high-speed network services to a formerly "unwired" region that rival those available anywhere in the world. The network's reach is equivalent to between 30,000 and 110,000 square kilometers, given the AB-Access™ units' aggregate coverage areas, the size of several U.S. states. Neptuno plans to extend its deployment of Axxcelera units to all islands in the Caribbean, merge new voice and video technologies with the existing networks to leverage the unit's capabilities, and start positioning the networks for the new generation of WiMAX radios that will be coming soon. Neptuno Networks' services range from high-speed point-to-multipoint wireless broadband links of over 11 km to cellular infrastructure carrier point-to-point T1/E1 solutions. Neptuno's customers range from small and mid-size companies to government agencies, educational institutions, major banks, insurance companies, health institutions, VARs, and telecommunication carriers, all using capabilities of Axxcelera products to deploy effective networking solutions.
