CARIBBEAN CUP 2004 PLAYOFFS ON THIS WEEKEND
The Caribbean Cup 2004 competition moves one step closer to the finals, as this weekend’s playoff games will determine which teams go on to next week’s semi-finals. Sunday’s (August 22) matches at the Jefferson High School field at Flatlands and Shepherd Avenues in Brooklyn should provide lots of excitement and maybe even a few surprises. Play begins at 1:00 pm with the over-40 tournament match up between St. Vincent & the Grenadines and the team from Guyana. Up next at 2:30 pm it’s the Central Brooklyn Soccer League championship game featuring Horizon versus Imperial Kickers. The CBSL finals should be an entertaining affair as these two strong teams vie to see who is the best. Then it’s on to the much anticipated Caribbean Cup 2004 playoffs. At 4:00 pm Haiti will play Guyana to see who will earn the right to play the red-hot Grenadians next week. Then at 6:00 pm in the feature match, defending champions Jamaica take on St. Kitts. Admission for these playoff games is $10 and kids under 12 are free. For information and tickets call 718-859-7300. SOURCE: CARIBBEAN CUP SOCCER 2004
