JAMAICAN WOMAN THIRD FASTEST IN THE WORLD  
ATHENS, 21 August - Belarussian Yuliya NESTERENKO won the women's 100m title tonight ahead of Lauryn WILLIAMS (USA) and Veronica CAMPBELL (JAM). After setting national records of 10.94 and 10.92 in the heats and semifinals, NESTERENKO produced her fourth sub-11 second race of the Games to win in 10.93. WILLIAMS, who started strongly and led for the majority of the race, clocked a personal best 10.96 to claim the silver medal. CAMPBELL lagged in the early stages but powered home, also setting a personal best (10.97), to take the bronze medal. Ivet LALOVA, the fastest woman in the world this year with 10.77, ran her fastest time of the Games - 11.00 - for fourth place.
