ST JOHN'S, Antigua (AFP): The West Indies squad for the International Cricket Council Champions Trophy was due to leave for Bermuda on Sunday for a one-week camp in preparation for the tournament, the West Indies Cricket Board said.
The West Indies will play three games in Bermuda on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday next week.
The first two matches will be against a Barbados team which will be on tour in Bermuda and the third against Bermuda. The team are scheduled to leave the island on Sunday September 5 for England where the ICC Champions Trophy is being held.
On Friday, the WICB announced all rounder Darren Sammy would replace fast bowler Jermaine Lawson who has a stress fracture of the lower back and will be out of action for at least six weeks.
The ICC Champions Trophy begins in England on September 10 and the West Indies are drawn in Group B along with South Africa and Bangladesh. They play their first game on September 15 against Bangladesh.
