ST. JOHN'S, Antigua - The staff of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Secretariat sent off donations including foodstuff, water, household articles and clothing to Grenada in aid of the hurricane relief effort.
Grenada was hard hit by Hurricane Ivan earlier this month, as the island suffered a number of casualties and catastrophic devastation of property.
WICB Chief Executive Officer, Roger Brathwaite said the staff of the organisation came from islands which have suffered loss of life and property in hurricanes so they deeply empathise with their Grenadian brothers and sisters in their current plight.
The Board had conveyed its deepest sympathies to the people of Grenada in a letter to Prime Minister Keith Mitchell on September 10. The letter also expressed the WICB's willingness to assist the island in any way that it could.
