BROOKLYN, NY—Multi-faceted reggae/pop/world beat artist Dennison George has released a reggae album to benefit Grenadians affected by hurricane
Ivan. The title track Grenada Will Rise Again is an upbeat, evocative tribute to the resilience and determination of Grenadians in the face of environmental and political adversity.
Hurricane Ivan, the worst hurricane to strike the island in half a century, killed 35 people and left two-thirds of Grenada’s population homeless. All proceeds from this album will go to benefit Grenadian victims of Hurricane Ivan.
Grenada Will Rise Again was co-produced by internationally renowned reggae and R&B producer Sydney Mills, best known for his work with groups
like Steel Pulse and The Fugees. The song is also included on Denison George’s new album, Crossing, exploring a variety of issues, ranging from inner conflicts to political and social issues in Haiti and Africa. Crossing will be released in late 2004. George, who has always used his music to combat injustice, has released three other albums, including 12 O’clock, Sinful Citay and Shake Up Yo Natty Tonight.
Grenada Will Rise Again will be released October 8 and will be available in all leading record stores. VP Records will distribute the album. Copies of the album are also available by contacting Vie Records
directly by calling 212 252-5573.
