A CALL TO CONVENE PARLIAMENT IN GRENADA |
|
|
ST. GEORGE‘S, Grenada: The Grenada parliament must be convened in order to know how much aid this hurricane ravaged island is receiving from the regional and international community says the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Nazim Burke, NDC Public Relations Officer says, "no one knows what is going on." Speaking of Prime Minister Mitchell, Burke added, "Mitchell wants to be on top of every penny and every bag of rice".
It is still not clear how much aid Grenada has received so far and exactly where the financial aid has been or will be channeled.
Burke also told members of the media that since the passing of Hurricane Ivan there has being a significant increase in gonorrhea which could have a devastating effect on the island.
Medical sources at St. George's main hospital have confirmed to Caribbean Net News that the increase is a cause for great concern.
