PM MITCHELL FOR BARDADOS TODAY
Prime Minister Keith Mitchell leaves Grenada on Friday (October 29) for Barbados where he will hold separate meetings with Prime Minister Owen Arthur and Government officials at the British, Canadian and American embassies to discuss the ongoing reconstruction efforts in Grenada, following the devastation and destruction caused by Hurricane Ivan on September 7. The Prime Minister, who has been visiting villages throughout the State almost daily for the past few weeks, is expected to update Prime Minister Arthur and officials of the three other Governments on progress regarding reconstruction, as well as outline the immediate and long term needs for reviving the economy, addressing the social needs and providing much needed assistance for the recovery process. A meeting is also scheduled with officials of the Caribbean Development Bank. The Prime Minister, who will be accompanied by Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance Timothy Antoine, returns to Grenada Friday evening. SOURCE: OFFICE OF THE PRIME MINISTER
