LONDON, England - West Indies captain Brian Lara has risen one place in the latest PricewaterhouseCoopers Test batting ratings. Lara, world record holder for the highest Test score, moved ahead of Australia's Matthew Hayden and is now in second position behind ICC Player-of-the-Year, Rahul Dravid of India. Despite Dravid's poor form with the bat in the recent series against Australia, the prolific right-hander still holds the top spot on the strength of his previous performances during the year. Left-hander Shivnarine Chanderpaul is West Indies' next highest player in 20th position, with teammates Ramnaresh Sarwan and Chris Gayle holding down the 23rd and 24th spots respectively. In the bowling, left-arm medium-fast bowler Pedro Collins is the West Indies' highest ranked bowler in the standings at 24th position. England's Steve Harmison continues to be the highest ranked bowler in the world ahead of South Africa's Shaun Pollock and Sri Lanka's Muttiah Mulitharan respectively.
