MORE HELP FROM OUR FRIENDS
Garage sale will benefit Grenada relief effort A group of Humboldt State University faculty and students are holding a garage sale and silent auction Saturday to raise money for the Grenada Disaster Relief Effort. The garage sale will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at 924 Diamond Drive in Arcata. In early September, Hurricane Ivan swept through the island of Grenada, killing approximately 20 people and damaging and destroying numerous buildings. Shortly after Ivan left Grenada, Mary Glenn, an anthropology professor at Humboldt State University, started the Grenada Disaster Relief Effort to help raise money and other donations for the hurricane’s victims. In January, she and another volunteer will visit Grenada to distribute the donations, she said in a previous interview with The Eureka Reporter. For more information, phone Glenn at (707) 826-3126 or e-mail her at meg12@humboldt.edu. SOURCE: EUREKAREPORTER.COM
