NEW LOOK FOR U.S. ‘GREEN CARD’
click
WASHINGTON, D.C., Tues. Nov. 16: If you are one of thousands of Caribbean immigrants awaiting your permanent resident card in the mail, then get ready to expect a new look card. U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services officials yesterday announced they have begun mailing the new green cards to qualified immigrants, complete with a new Department of Homeland Security seal on the front and the words “Department of Homeland Security ” on the back. The move, according to immigration officials, is in compliance with DHS’s branding guidelines and comes following the exhaustion of the Department of Justice cardstock used by the old Immigration and Naturalization Service. “USCIS has also taken this opportunity to add enhanced security features to the new cards,” the USCIS added yesterday, but advised current green card holder that those cards already in circulation remain valid until the expiration date listed on the card or until recalled by USCIS.
