The general public is hereby notified of the existence of an Office of the Supervisor of Insurance. This is in accordance with the Insurance Act. Cap. 150 of 1973. The holder of the post of Supervisor of Insurance is subject to the Minister of Finance and bears responsibility for the general administration of the Insurance Act. The duties of this Office can in turn be executed by any other suitable chosen person duly authorised by the Supervisor. In a matter of any policy disputes or differences arising between an insurer and a policy holder, the Supervisor may, if the parties agree, act as arbitrator of the dispute or difference. The Office of the Supervisor of Insurance extends this opportunity to all persons who are currently experiencing difficulties rectifying or normalising their claim settlements with their insurance companies to visit the Insurance Office, Ministry of Finance without delay.
