MAN TO MISS WIFE'S FUNERAL
Murder victim's husband delayed in Grenada Matthew Redhead, the man whose wife was killed in an apparent murder-suicide last week, will likely miss her funeral after he failed to arrive at the Canadian High Commission in Trinidad yesterday to get a special permit to fly to Toronto. Mr. Redhead was deported to Grenada in 2001 and needs special dispensation to re-enter the country. His wife, 24-year-old Cimerron Doncaster, was killed last Friday in her Lansdowne Avenue apartment. Her companion, Dean Anthony Plante, was also found dead at the scene, hanged by his shoelaces. Mr. Redhead spent most of the day yesterday at the airport in Grenada, trying to get a standby seat on a flight to Port of Spain, Trinidad, where the nearest high commission is located. He didn't arrive until late in the afternoon, after the office had closed. "He's upset; he's crying," Mr. Redhead's father, Thomas Benjamin, said from their home in Grenada. "He arrived in Trinidad too late. He got delayed because he was on a standby flight." Ms. Doncaster's funeral is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. today at Heritage Funeral Home on Overlea Blvd. She is to be buried at Prospect Cemetery later in the day. Immigration officials in Port of Spain waited all day to process Mr. Redhead's application. Reprinted from theglobeandmail.com
