PM MITCHELL MEETS WITH CANADIAN OFFICIALS
OTTAWA, Canada, Mon. Nov. 22: Grenada’s Prime Minister, Keith Mitchell, will wrap up a three day visit to Canada today, with a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness, Anne McLellan, and Minister of International Cooperation Aileen Carroll. Mitchell, who is leading the rebuilding effort in Grenada following the Sept. 7th assault by Hurricane Ivan, will also be officially recognised during the question period in the House of Commons, according to a government statement, and will be the guest of honour of the speaker at a special reception later today. Mitchell arrived in Canada on Saturday and held meetings with Grenadian and other Caribbean nationals over the weekend. On Saturday evening, he attended an event hosted by The Ontario Club, in conjunction with the High Commission for the OECS and Consulates-General for the OECS member states, entitled ‘Destination Eastern Caribbean.’ And yesterday, Mitchell travelled to Montreal for the “Raise the Roof’ fund raising concert, which featured a special performance by Grenada’s cultural Ambassador-at-Large, The Mighty Sparrow. He will return to Grenada tomorrow. SOURCE: HARDBEATNEWS.COM
