GRENADA OVERPOWERED BY TNT
PORT-of-SPAIN, Trinidad, Nov 26 (GrenadaSports) - Grenada gave up an opportunity to make certain of advancing to the next round of the CFU/DIGICEL Caribbean Cup Football Tournament. The "Spice Boyz" were beaten 2-0 by Trinidad and Tobago at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella on Friday night. Again Grenada played better but like the previous match was forced to make errors and paid the price. Captain Anthony Modeste brought down Leslie Fitzgerald in the penalty box in the 22nd minute and Nigel Pierre made no mistake in converting from the spot. Grenada took the game to the Trinidadians but failed to capitalize on the opportunities. Cyd Gray brought Trinidad's second goal in the 50th minute. Both teams are likely to advance to the next round pending the final round of matches on Sunday at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. In the earlier game, Puerto Rico battled back to earn a 1-1 draw against Suriname. Grenada plays Puerto Rico in the first game from 4:00 p.m. while Trinidad and Tobago and Suriname clash from 6:00 p.m. Reprinted from Grenadasports.com
