CARIBBEAN SHIPPERS ESTABLISH GRENADA RELIEF FUND
THE Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA) has moved to assist the recovery of the Grenada shipping industry with the launch of the Grenada Relief Fund, the association has announced. General manager Stephen Bell says an account, numbered 394034134, has been set up at National Commercial Bank for contributions. The fund will be wound up on April 30 and the total of donations and interest will be handed over in May, during the annual Caribbean Shipping Executives conference, to be held in St Vincent. CSA president Corah Ann Robertson-Sylvester said it was important for Grenada to be able to receive, store and deliver goods, especially the hurricane relief cargo arriving in that country. The CSA has therefore concentrated its efforts on collecting funds to assist the hurricane-ravaged port of St Georges, the island's capital, as well as the portworkers and staff who operate the port.
