MINISTER MEETS WITH RASTAFARIANS
Minister of Health, Social Security, The Environment and Ecclesiastic Relations Senator Ann David-Antoine, together with Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for National Security Senator Einstein Louison, and Minister of Sports Adrian Mitchell met with representatives of the Rastafarian denomination on Tuesday, November 30. Prince Nan-Nan, leader of the Nyabingi Rastafarians, raised matters of interest to the Nyabingi and distributed some printed material to the Ministers. He also gave an account of the Nyabingi philosophy. Among the issues discussed at the meeting were the relationship between the Royal Grenada Police Force and the Rastafarians, land entitlement in the Calliste area, visits to the Richmond Hill Prison and the direction of young members of the Nyabingi. Senator David-Antoine described the meeting as amicable and emphasized that the Rastafarians, like every other group, have a right to express themselves but must do so within the boundaries of the Law.
