MELVILLE STREET PROJECT PROCEEDING  
Minister of Communication, Works and Transport Clarice Modeste-Curwen has congratulated Volker Stevin for the professional manner in which work along Melville Street is being carried out. The Minister was speaking at the signing ceremony for the $1.5 million (US) Melville Street Project, which was held at Volker Stevin office on Friday December 3rd. “The ability of the Company to carry out the project in phases, resulting in minimal inconveniences for users including bus drivers, pedestrians and other motorists, is exceptional,” Minister Modeste-Curwen stated. Mr. Rudd Goosens, Project Manager at Volker Stevin, said it is a delight working along with the Government and people of Grenada to significantly improve the Town of St. George. The signing was carried out between the Ministry of Communication, Works and Transport and the European company, Volker Stevin, contractor for the project. Minister Modeste Curwen signed on behalf of the Ministry, while Mr. Rudd Goosens signed on behalf of Volker Stevin. The Melville Street Project is part of the rehabilitation effort ongoing in the Town of St. George and includes the relocation of utilities and general improvement of the Street, providing sidewalks and proper lighting facilities.
