ONLY PACKAGE DEALS REMAIN FOR CWC 2007 FINAL
The only way to possibly get a ticket to watch the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 now is by purchasing hospitality or tour & travel packages, disclosed the organisers of next year's tournament in an article posted on their web site. Cricket Logistics 2007 has a limited supply of tour & travel packages, including match tickets, for the final, likewise, some hospitality packages remain, the article said in part. The story further revealed that all tickets allocated for sale through public ticketing to watch the final in Barbados have been sold. It is being reported by the organisers that the best seats in the stadium valued at US$300 apiece and US$200-per-person party stand were oversubscribed, during phase one of public ticketing. The organisers of cricket's biggest showpiece also noted that tickets for the final, as anticipated, were in the greatest demand during the recent application phase of public ticketing. Tom Roche, general manager of Cricket Hospitality 2007, was quoted as saying: "Fans need to be buying their packages now because if they wait too long there will be nothing left. "This not only applies to the final but, to both semi-finals as well, because they are proving very popular. "In fact, because of how the match schedule is structured, people are buying combinations of hospitality packages to watch Super Eight matches in Barbados, then go to Saint Lucia, or even Jamaica, for a semi-final and come back to Barbados for the final." The reason for this, the organisers explained, is that there are only a few party stand tickets for the St Lucia semi-final available through public ticketing, while there are no category one seats for the Jamaica semi-final, which only has limited category two, three and party stand tickets. In the article, according to ICC CWC 2007 commercial manager Stephen Price, the Super Eight matches are "on the verge of selling out as far as tickets via public ticketing are concerned". And Follow A Path and Venue Combination packages are already sold out, while applicants who can be reached via e-mail are now being notified if they have been granted or denied of being a part of the live audience, starting March. Phase two of Public Ticketing starts on Friday, September 1, 2006, and will operate on a "first come, first served" basis. And this will continue until Thursday, November 30, 2006, with the remaining ICC CWC 2007 tickets being sold online and at the official ticket centres in the nine host venues across the Caribbean.
