BWIA SHARES WORTHLESS?
As Trinidad and Tobago's National airline, BWIA, was slated to close operations last Sunday after 60 years in the air, there was worrying news for shareholders. The minority shareholders have been told that their shares in the airline are worthless. But the Aviation Communication Workers Union, which represents BWIA employees, warned on Friday that it was prepared to take legal action to secure more than US$6 million in shares from the airline. President of the Union, Curtis John, said that lawyers had already been briefed on the issue. BWIA was replaced by Caribbean Airlines starting January 1. Reprinted from radioja.com
