SEVEN GRENADIANS HONORED BY QUEEN  
CATEGORY:AWARDS -------------------- By Wallace J.A Inside Grenada correspondent Friday January 05,2007 ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada – For this New Year (2007), seven proud and outstanding sons and daughters of the soil have been honored by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II. It is customary that at the commencement of every year, the Queen bestow honors on people from the British Commonwealth, who have made outstanding contributions towards the development of their country. This year’s recipients of honorary titles from the British Crown were Mr. Gordon Steele, a well-known Grenadian banker, who received the title of Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his invaluable contributions in the field of Banking and Mr. Lawrence Lambert, a long standing employee of the Flamboyant Hotel, who received the title of Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his contributions in the field of Tourism. Also receiving honors were Mrs. Cynthia Cruickshank Elmsford (MBE) for her contributions in the Public Service and Ms. Jean Robinson (MBE) for her outstanding services in area of community development. Mr. Horatio Brizan received an MBE for his contributions in the field of business while the award of British Empire Medals went to Mr. Norris Marshall (for farming) and Mr. Anthony George (for art and culture). Grenadian Connection wishes to congratulate all this year’s honorees and encourages all Grenadians to work very diligently so as to emulate these very fine Grenadian men and women.
