GRENADA OPPOSITION ACCUSED OF DISSEMINATING ERRONEOUS I...
CATEGORY:CONTROVERSY ------------------------- According to a release issued by Grenadabroadcast.com on January 10th, 2007, it appears that Grenada's opposition has no given accurate information to the public in a matter involving Hugh Wildman. The following is the release that was posted on the website www.grenadabroadcast.com St. George, January 10, 2007 -- In the December 8, 2006 edition of a local newspaper, allegations were made that the Government of Grenada had reportedly paid one million dollars in legal fees to a British attorney to represent Legal Advisor to Cabinet, Hugh Wildman in his battle against the Judicial and Legal Services Commission in his bid to become Grenada's Attorney General. Wildman was amazed that Her Majesty's Opposition had also repeated these allegations during the recent 2007 Budget debate in an effort which, he believes, was intended to mislead the public. On Wednesday, Wildman circulated a series of documents from his bank and British attorney, James Gutherie, QC which appear to refute the claims made by both the newspaper and Opposition member.
