CATEGORY:CELEBRATION ------------------------ By Wallace J.A Inside Grenada correspondent Tuesday January 16,2007 ST.GEORGE, Grenada – The St. George’s University (SGU) will be celebrating its 30th anniversary of existence here in Spice Isle tomorrow To mark this very memorable milestone, the University grounds have been decorated with a number of flags and on Wednesday 17th January, a number of activities will be held at the university center to commemorate the first medical class held on the island back on January 17, 1977. The celebrations will be held under the theme “From the World to the World – 30 years of innovation.” Chancellor Charles Modica and company along with Sir Eric Matthew Gairy, Prime Minister of Grenada at the time, were responsible for bringing the University to the shores of Grenada. Over the years, the St. George’s University has provided quality education to thousands of students from all around the world.It has also provided employment opportunities as well as free medical services (on occasions) for hundreds of Grenadians. Grenadian Connection will like to congratulate SGU on this outstanding achievement and wish them continued success in the future.
