CATEGORY:RELIGION ----------------------- By Lyndon St. Cyr Inside Grenada correspondent Sunday January 21,2007 PLEASE ALLOW ME the opportunity to wish a happy new year to all our readers and may the rich blessings of Jehovah rest with you all throughout 2007. For the next few weeks I hope to address the uniqueness of Christ and HIS message. As an avid reader I have realized the clear distinction between “the use of fine words” and the “fine use of words.” For example, the definition that education is “the inculcation of the incomprehensible into the indifferent by the incompetent” is the curmudgeon’s way of using fine words. Jesus on the other hand seemed to possess a simpler, more down-to-earth approach to life and communication. HE said to the Pharisees “you strain at a gnat and swallow a camel” when they failed at receiving the simplicity of the gospel as opposed to the sophistication of the law. A classic case also describes and incident where a woman with an issue of blood spent all her savings on doctors yet was healed instantly when she touched Jesus’ clothes. Mark His words to her “Thy faith has made you whole.” Incredibly fine use of words when we depend so much on technology to solve so many of our problems. These few examples also beg the question “was everyone healed in Jesus’ time? Certainly not! God, through Christ, has reserved the right to heal whoever HE wills and to have mercy on whosoever he wills. As sovereign creator and king He does whatever He pleases and as His creation we should place our trust in Him for the salvation of our souls. Why? Because He knows it all, past, present and future. It was David in Psalm 139 who declared “Oh Lord before a word is on my tongue behold, YOU know it already.” Behold I stand at the door and knock if any man hears my voice and open the door I will come in to him and commune with him. Today the choice is yours, if you hear HIS voice do not harden your heart.
