CATEGORY:SPECIAL ARTICLE --------------------------- Inside Grenada Wednesday January 24,2007 RECENTLY GRENADA was identified by a UK media outlet as having one of the best beach in the world for families (Grand Anse Beach). The island has again again been recognized by another UK media house as being a 'dream location' for many people, especially those wishing to build a second home abroad. The following information is reprinted from safestore.co.uk/industry_news The south-eastern island of Grenada is becoming particularly popular with holidaymakers buying a second home abroad, according to one property research company. The island is the second-smallest independent country in the western hemisphere and is part of the Commonwealth, with the Queen as its head of state. With fantastic weather, British traditions and low house prices, Grenada is a dream location for many people. Rhiannon Williamson, co-owner of Amberlamb, said: "Up to December 2006 one of the most popular provinces receiving interest specifically from those looking for holiday properties or new homes (as opposed to investment returns) was Grenada where prices are between 30 and 35 per cent lower than the national average.” Spain remains another popular choice with British holidaymakers, with lower prices than the UK and short flights.Ms Williamson added: "Current British buyers looking for holiday properties in Spain are driven by affordability constraints, particularly following the recent Bank of England interest rate hike - which is why the most popular provinces in Spain at the moment are those where average property prices are well below the national median price.”
