CATEGORY:FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE -------------------------------- By Wallace J.A Inside Grenada contribution Monday February 05,2007 ST.ANDREW’S, Grenada: The PTA of the St. Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS) today made a financial contribution to the Sports Department of the school to assist the department in making the SAASS 2007 sports meeting a reality. Making the presentation on behalf of the school’s PTA was Corporal Rodney, a police officer attached to the Grenville Police Station and an executive member of the school’s PTA. Mr. Blache, a teacher at SAASS and the PRO of the school’s Sports Department, accepted the financial donation on behalf of his department. Mr. Blache was very high in praise for the contribution made my Corporal Rodney. He assured him that the money would be put to good use, not only to deal with expenses associated with the school’s sports meeting tomorrow, but also to help them make the necessary preparations for the Intercol Games. He urged students of the school to recognize the sacrifices that people are making for them and make every effort to perform with merit in their many undertakings. Over the years, SAASS has produced many outstanding national and international sporting personalities, such as Alleyne Francique and Randy Lewis among others. The school has been able to dominate the Intercol Games in the boys division for almost an entire decade. Holding a sports meeting, however, could be a very costly exercise, involving numerous expenses and it would be an excellent idea for members of the corporate community in Grenada as well as individuals and groups from overseas to offer their assistance to schools in preparing their athletes for their annual sporting exercises.
