GRENADIAN NATIONAL FOOTBALLERS GET SCHOLARSHIPS TO ATTE...  
Marlon Glean, former Grenada national footballer and Director of the Marlon Glean’s Soccer Camp and Marlon Glean’s Soccer Scholarship Programme has successfully secured two more scholarships for Grenada national footballers to study and play at Marshalltown Community College in Iowa, U.S.A. The players awarded the scholarships are national goalkeeper Ken Searles, a former student of the St. John’s Christian Secondary School and midfielder Ian Perrotte, a former student of Grenville Secondary School. This is the second group of players from Grenada to attend Marshalltown Community College, adding to the three other Grenadians who are already students there; namely: Kerry Bristow, a former student of the St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School,Alister Flemming and Arkenson Neckles, both former students of the Grenada Boys Secondary School. Searles and Perrotte, the two latest recipients will now make it a total of 14 Grenadian players currently on scholarships under the Marlon Glean Scholarship Programme, adding to the over 30 scholarships obtained for players in Grenada and of Grenadian parentage in the U.S. and Canada. Glean has also successfully secured a scholarship for midfielder Luke Blakely of Leicester, England who will also be teaming up with Searles and Perrotte at Marshalltown Community College. Last year, led by Captain Flemming with stout defending from Bristow and 16 goals from Neckles, Marshalltown Community College recorded its most successful season in the programme’s history, ranking as high as fifth in the nation with a record of 15 wins, 2 losses and one 1 draw. Within the last year, two of the Marlon Glean’s Soccer Scholarship Programme recipients, Joel Forde and Sherwin Merryman successfully completed Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration at the Southern New Hampshire University.
