CARICOM LEADERS START SUMMIT ON CRICKET WORLD CUP SECUR...
Jump TV Mon Feb 12, 2007 CARICOM leaders start summit on Cricket World Cup security issues Caribbean Community leaders have started a summit meeting in St. Vincent with security concerns about Cricket World Cup at the top of the agenda. For ease of travel during the tournament the ten countries hosting actual and practice become a single state. But the plan is to use visas and blacklists to make it harder for criminals to enjoy the same freedom of movement as others. The event is also being viewed as a huge economic opportunity for the region, a fact which St. Kitts/Nevis Prime Minister Denzil Douglas was at pains to point out. He called on regional leaders to do what ever it takes and invest as much resources as needed to ensure that the individual countries are ready. Reprinted from radioja.com
