CATEGORY:MAJOR DEVELOPMENT ------------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA Wednesday February 21,2007 by Wallace J.A GRENADA: During a National Democratic Congress' (NDC) press conference yesterday (Tuesday Feb. 20), Hon. Kenrick Fullerton, parliamentary representative for the constituency of St. Andrew’s South East, announced to the nation that he is stepping-down from the executive body of the party. Fullerton, one of young, vibrant politicians within the ranks of the NDC, confirmed to the nation that while a domestic dispute (involving him) actually occurred, quite a lot of the allegations leveled against him were incorrect and were grossly distorted. The MP, however, did not go into any details relating to the cause of the dispute nor did he reveal what actually transpired on that regrettable occasion. Fullerton went on to issue a full public apology in which he stated that his actions during the domestic disturbance were unbecoming for someone who holds the position that he occupies. He expressed the view that he does not support violence in any form, especially against women. Fullerton pledged to re-double his efforts to serve his constituents to the very best of his ability. Opposition leader and head of the NDC, Hon. Tillman Thomas, congratulated Fullerton on the decision he had made to issue the public apology. Thomas said that Fullerton will continue to be an elected member of the party, however, the NDC is “…currently reconsidering the issue of candidacy in the St. Andrew’s South East Constituency.”
