LOCAL ARTISTES TO PERFORM AT TEMPO CONCERT IN GRENADA
Grenada will be showcased on one of the Caribbean's most popular entertainment channels on Saturday, March 3. TEMPO, which is produced by MTV Networks in the US, will stage a mega concert promoting local artistes, while at the same time giving them the chance to be viewed by the wider Caribbean. The show, dubbed ‘Grenada Got TEMPO Concert’, according to organisers has come at an opportune time as the country continues to prepare to stage one of the biggest sporting events in the world, Cricket World Cup. The event will be staged at the Old Drive-in Cinema and is expected to attract a mass audience as some of Grenada’s rising artistes and top performers are expected to hit the stage. Some of the artistes selected to appear are Hollis Map, with one of his popular hits ‘Spice Isle Rock’, Ajamu, Tallpree, and upcoming reggae star Glaize. One of the main attractions of the night is the performance by Richie Spice and Gyptain. Officials believe that this is another promotional and marketing step for Grenada as footage from the island will be shown on TEMPO’s popular programme ‘Downtown Island’. Saturday’s event will also see a number of artisans who will exhibit their talent in craft and fashion-wear. Two of the nation’s popular modelling agencies are expected to grace the stage with their models. Grants Body Bodyline collection, under the management of Tricia and Sandra Grant, will make their debut with a new bikini collection. Speaking to Caribbean Net News they said this is a good opportunity for young aspiring models to be a part of the exposure, while at the same time showcasing their talent and skills to the wider Caribbean. A number of cooperate sponsors have joined together to make the event a success. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
