Bobby Ackbarali of Bobby & Sally designs in Toronto, Canada, arrived in Grenada Thursday just in time to assist in preparing the Miss Grenada World Contestants for the upcoming Fashion Show on March 24 and the Miss Grenada National Finals on March 31, 2007. Ackbarali and his wife have designed and created award-winning gowns and costumes for nearly 30 years, initially in their native, Trinidad & Tobago and now in Toronto, where they have become fashion icons. While in Grenada, Ackbarali will measure the contestants for their costumes and evening gowns and assist former Miss World (1970) Jennifer Hosten, franchise holder of the Miss Grenada World Pageant and an old friend, in preparing the contestants for this national event. The winner of the Miss Grenada World contest will represent Grenada at the Miss World Pageant in China this November. "I am really pleased to be back in Grenada after almost 22 years," said Ackbarali. "I met the girls last night and they are a really terrific group. I know that I will enjoy working with them. We all hope that we can look forward to another victory for Grenada at the Miss World contest in China later this year."
