GRENADA POLICE QUESTION SUSPECTS LINKED TO ATTACKS ON D...
Grenada Police confirmed that several persons have been brought in for questioning in connection with two separate attacks on diplomats on the island. In the latest attack Cuban Ambassador Maria Delgado Valdez’s husband was seriously injured and had to be rushed to hospital for surgery. The Ambassador herself received minor injuries. This is the second attack on a diplomat in a week. Italian counsel Victoria Bialetti had earlier been assaulted after assailants broke into her home. Grenada Police spokesman Troy Gavey says no arrests have been made but investigations are continuing into both matters which they are taking very seriously. “It is priority one as it relates to apprehending the person or persons responsible for both matters. We cannot make a link at this point in time but Commissioner of Police Winston James has issued directives to all regions of the force to ensure that this matter is concluded as quickly as possible, someone is apprehended and brought before the courts for a speedy trial,” said Mr. Gavey.
