ARREST EXPECTED IN GRENADA IN CONNECTION WITH ATTACKS O...
The Royal Grenada Police Force believe they have enough evidence to lay charges against an individual who has been assisting them in connection with an attack on the Cuban ambassador. While the name of the individual was not released, the police indicated that an arrest was expected by Thursday. Meanwhile, the Legal Affairs Minister Elvin Nimrod says government is closely monitoring the attacks on the Cuban ambassador and her husband, as well as that on the Italian consul here. During a meeting with the diplomatic corps suggestions were made on how members of the corps can be protected. Acting Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Gregory Bowen on Tuesday reviewed some security arrangements for members of the diplomatic corps with Police Commissioner Winston James and other high ranking officers. Bowen expressed his concerns over the two recent incidents and threw a challenge to the officers to ensure that the security plan is fully enforced. A security plan for Cricket World Cup was also discussed. Caribbean Net News understands that the Italian consul is recovering well from a broken nose after being attacked some two weeks ago. However no medical reports have been given on the husband of the Cuban ambassador. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
