TOUCHING BASE PROGRAMME POSTPONED
CATEGORY:GOVERNMENT ------------------------ INSIDE GRENADA Wednesday March 28,2007 GRENADA: The special Touching Base programme scheduled to take place at the Grenada National Stadium today has been postponed until a later date. The programme, which would have been hosted by the Prime Minister, Dr Keith Mitchell, had to be put off because of the West Indies vs. Australia cricket match played in Antigua. The match (West Indies first game in the Super Eight round) was scheduled to be completed yesterday (Tuesday March 27, 2007), but because of prolonged rainfall, the game automatically spilled over into today. West Indies will be attempting to chase a score of 323 runs for victory in 50 overs. This special ‘Touching Base’ programme would have been carried live by both radio and television. When the programme actually comes off, the Prime Minister is expected to discuss a number of very important issues related to national development as well as Cricket World Cup 2007.
