MINISTRY OF SPORTS EMBARKS ON SPORTS MOTORCADE TODAY

CATEGORY:SPECIAL EVENT -------------------------- INSIDE GRENADA Saturday March 31,2007 by Wallace J.A GRENADA: The Ministry of Sports has organized a big Sports Motorcade today in an attempt to draw public attention to the Super Eight games of the Cricket World Cup (CWC), which will be coming to Grenada from April 10-20. The Ministry intends to garner maximum support from the Grenadian public for that very important period when there will me a tremendous influx of international cricketers and cricket fans to the island to look at the cricket matches and experience the rich Grenadian culture. The Sports Motorcade is scheduled to begin around 10:00 am from the Port Highway. It will then move through Grand Anse, Westerhall, St.David, St. Andrew, St. Patrick, St. Mark, St. John and back to the Port Highway. Grenadian entertainers like Sheldon Douglas, Inspector and Randy Isaac are expected to be a part of this motorcade. Grenada is scheduled to host six matches in the Super Eight round of the Cricket World Cup. The scheduled for the games are as follows: April 10 - West Indies (D2) vs. South Africa (A2) April 12 - Sri Lanka (B1) vs. New Zealand (C1) April 14 - South Africa (A2) vs. New Zealand (C1) April 16 - Australia (A1) vs. Sri Lanka (C1) April 18 - Ireland (D1) vs. Sri Lanka (C1) April 20 - Australia (A1) vs. New Zealand (B1) Grenadians will be encouraged to purchase tickets for the games at the National Stadium and to generally play an integral part in ensuring that the Grenada leg of the CWC is successful. The motorcade is expected to end around 6:00 pm.

They can have all the motorcades they want, but it will not put the greedy ticket prices in the pockets of ordinary Grenadian cricket lovers. It will not make the grossly inflated hotel rates go away for foreigners. It will not take away the stupid, overbearing rules about what you can take into the stadiums and it will not put the fun back in the watching for cricket fans.

That is a joke! If people who like cricket want to go they will go to the cricket.Some will go for the fun of it as happens. Ehole thing sounds like an old PRG thing: Motorcade = Show of force.
