Vivian Burkhardt, a life science student at St. George’s University and winner of the People’s Choice award, won the title of Miss Grenada World on Saturday, March 31. The announcement was made after a magnificent show of pageantry and entertainment of International standard before a packed audience at the G.B.S.S. The official crowning ceremony was performed by The Hon. Brenda Hood, Minister for Tourism and the Performing Arts. Vivian will represent Grenada at the next Miss World Contest in China, due to be held in November this year, together with about one hundred other contestants from all over the world. In the meantime, between her studies at S.G.U. Vivian will be undergoing training to prepare her for the international contest as well as making appearances at prominent gatherings here in Grenada. “I am so very happy and proud to have been chosen. I will do everything I can to fulfill my role and to bring credit to Grenada. I know it will be hard work, but I look forward to the challenge,” said Vivian.
