CATEGORY:COMPETITION(BEAUTY CONTEST) ------------------------------------------ INSIDE GRENADA Wednesday April 04,2007 by Wallace J.A GRENADA: Twenty-one year old Vivian Charlott Burkhardt was crowned Miss Grenada World at a beauty pageant held at the Grenada Boys’ Secondary School (GBSS) on Saturday March 31,2007. The 5’8” beauty outshone the other seventeen beauty contestants on the night of the competition to capture the coveted title. She will therefore be the person representing the Spice Island at the Miss World contest in China later on this year. Although Vivian Burkhardt was born in Germany, she has Grenadian roots and is a citizen of Grenada. Her mother is Grenadian-born and grew up in Grenville, St.Andrew’s. Vivian speaks German, English and some French. She has an Associate Degree in Natural Science and is presently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Life Science. Vivian is classically trained in singing; she is a certified Sailor and Scuba Diver and loves dancing, swimming and soccer. She intends to become a medical doctor later on in her life. The first runner-up is seventeen year old Renee Moses and the second runner-up is Crystal Mc Lawrence, a talented young lady who won the Pulse B-Mobile Model Search competition that was held recently. Michelle Minors is the third runner-up and Alyssa Bierzynski, the fourth runner-up. Miss Grenada, Vivian Burkhardt, also received the People’s Choice Award and the Miss Fitness Award. Miss Talent went to Anika Phillip, Miss Beach Beauty to Shanique Strachan, Miss Best Complexion to Tonia Collins, Miss Congeniality to Yola Jolema Noel and Miss Elegance to Crystal McLawrence. In all, there were 18 gorgeous ladies vying for the Miss Grenada World title. People who attended the function last week Saturday thought that it was well organized and that the talented beauties gave the audience their money’s worth in terms of their performances.
