Last Friday cricket authorities in Grenada announced a further cut in ticket prices in an attempt to boost attendance at the remaining Cricket World Cup matches. With three more Super Eight games remaining, the Local Organising Committee Friday revealed the creation of the “Grenada Posse Stand” for which patrons will now pay a little over nine US dollars. Local Organising Committee Communications Manager, Troy Garvey, said they are also planning other specials which will be made public in the up coming days. He said it is hoped that with the creation of the “Grenada Posse Stand”, the relaxing of the restrictions on bringing musical instruments and the carrying of food to the grounds and the purchasing of tickets by corporate bodies for their staff, the turn out would increase for the remaining matches. There have been concerns about the lack of local patron turnout to the matches across the region and the Grenada LOC says it is determined to initiate a turn around. Reprinted from radioja.com
