Senior light-weight boxer, Grenadian Jewel Lewis, has qualified for the XV Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, starting July 7.
Jewel booked his place in the semi-finals of the 3rd Pan American Games Qualifier when he outscored his opponent Obrey Moore of Guyana at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre in Trinidad on Wednesday evening.
According to the Secretary of the Grenada Boxing Association, this victory gurantees Jewel Lewis a bronze medal and places him among the best in his weight category, with boxers coming from Argentina and Mexico among other countries.
Jewel is coached by former Caribbean super-heavy weight champion Sebastian Stiell and both are scheduled to return on Sunday.
