NEW MINISTRY CREATED BY GRENADA’S PRIME MINISTER
Grenada’s Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Mitchell, has reshuffled his Cabinet and has established a new ministry. Speaking at a rally of his ruling New National Party on Sunday, Dr. Mitchell said the changes would take effect from May 15. The Prime Minister, who has now taken on responsibility for finance, said that the new Ministry of Economic Development and Planning would be headed by the outgoing Finance Minister Anthony Boatswain. He says the new ministry would help the island adjust to the changing global environment. The Prime Minister also said that Education Minister Claris Charles would now be responsible for the Ministry of Legal Affairs, with Attorney General Elvin Nimrod continuing to be the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Carriacou and Petit Martinique Affairs.
