CATEGORY:HEALTH -------------------- INSIDE GRENADA THURSDAY May 10,2007 GRENADA: In just under three days, the Government of Grenada through the Ministry of Health will embark on an EC$579,568.00, major refurbishment and development project at the Princess Royal Hospital in Carriacou. The actual refurbishment of the health facility is set to commence on Monday May 7th 2007, and is expected to be completed within four months, during which the building’s entire roof will be replaced and strengthen to withstand hurricane force winds. Acting Director of Hospital Services, Mrs. Esther Henry-Fleary, (MBE) in speaking about the project and the Ministry’s plans to continue serving its clients, said that the emergency and hospital services will be temporarily transferred to the Mt. Pleasant medical station which has been newly refurbished, to the tune of over EC$400,000.00. All other out patient clinical services will be provided at the Hillsborough Health Center as well as the L’Estere and Windward medical stations. The Government of Grenada is persistent in its drive to deliver the best available healthcare to the citizens of Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.
