MORE COMPREHENSIVE ENQUIRY CALLED FOR INTO PLAYING OF W...
Security Minister Senator Einstein Louison said a more comprehensive enquiry is needed into the playing of the Taiwan national anthem instead of the Chinese one at the official opening ceremony of Grenada's national stadium in February. At a press conference held this week, Louison told the media that the government is not fully satisfied with the first enquiry conducted by a three man committee, which comprised deputy police commissioner Raymond Charles, Superintendent John Charles and Assistant Superintendent Arthur Renaud. According to the security minister, because the first report did not go all the way, after a review it was concluded that there were shortcomings that had to be addressed. “We thought that the report did not go far enough and, in some instances, some of the things that were hinted at, was questionable,” he said. The second report is scheduled to be handed over in about one month and it will be conducted by a two man committee. Reprinted from Caribbean Net News caribbeannetnews.com
